Overdue items policy
Our attitude towards overdue materials is pretty simple: we really really want you to return them. Overdues happen: we understand that. But we hope you won’t be so embarrassed that you won’t eventually return them.
To make things less burdensome, we don’t have a specific overdue fine of the typical “so much per day” sort. Instead, we’ll just ask you to make a small donation to the library, an amount appropriate to your level of guilt. And then we’ll stop bothering you about it.
If you’re too embarrassed to face us over the desk, you can put your donation in an envelope in a book or movie case you are returning.
Any account with items that are overdue more than 90 days will be suspended. That means that the account cannot be used to check out any new materials until all of the overdue items have either been returned or the library reimbursed for their replacement cost.
