Something good this way comes

If you recently have been in the library, you may have noticed some changes and new additions. The Seldovia Public Library Board just wanted to let you know all the cool things that are going on:
In the young children’s section, through an early literacy grant program, we have received from the Alaska State Library a crate full of toys and wooden puzzles along with 46 new board books. They have also provided us with several DVDs as well as activity and educational books. The Alaska State Library sure gets our thanks for this! Patrons are welcome to check out any of the books and DVDs, but the toys and puzzles are for playing with in the library and aren’t to be checked out. We also need to give a special thanks to Sherri Burt who donated a wonderful display shelf from the Susan B. English School for children books.
We now have a dedicated graphic novel section (located in the aisle containing teen books) which houses all the library’s graphic novels (i.e. comic books). We hope to continue expanding this section as we get more graphic novels in our collection. Additionally, a shelf in this aisle has been dedicated to teen non-fiction books covering topics (we hope) that are interesting and relevant to our young adult readers.
Something else that is new is that we now have two jump drives (i.e. flash drives) available for patrons to check out. Patrons may check these out for a week. This means if you are working on something on one of the library’s computers, don’t finish it before the library closes or you have to leave, you can save it and take it home with you. The jump drives will be wiped every time they are returned. We hope you are as excited about all these new changes and additions as the library volunteers and library board members are!
