July Fourth Annual Book Sale

Posted by Laura Haskins - Library Director on June 29, 2010

Yes, we’re going to be doing it again this year!

And what a sale it will be, thanks to lots of generous donors as well as a huge amount of work library director Shirly Giles did this year updating our collection. That means lots of great books that didn’t make the cut to stay on our shelves are still available to go home with the readers who love them.

We will have an especially large group of nonfiction this year, along with fiction both old and new. Kids’ books? You bet–plenty of them and for all ages. Plus we have a large assortment of donated kid’s and adult movies on videotape–perfect to stock your summer place for keeping guests entertained on less than perfect days.

Make the library book sale a part of your holiday this week. We’ll be in our usual spot in the parking lot right in front of the library. We’ll open about 7 am, the same time as the pancake breakfast, which is in the Multipurpose Room upstairs this year (worried about the stairs? We’ll be carrying the elevator key so don’t hesitate to ask for a lift). Please note, however, that there is an error in the Official Schedule and we will be open all day till about 3 pm, with a special make-an-offer, everything-must-go shopping frenzy scheduled for 2 pm.

So that’s:

Sunday, July 4
7 am to 3 pm
library parking lot

All proceeds from the sale go directly into library collection updates.
