But I love him : protecting your teen daughter from controlling, abusive dating relationships / Jill Murray
Abusive teen dating relationships and dating violence have increased at disturbing rates over the last several years. It is estimated that one in three girls will have an abusive dating experience by the time she graduates from high school — from verbal and emotional abuse, to sexual abuse, to physical battering.

Psychotherapist Dr. Jill Murray now provides the first book addressed to parents that informs them of the warning signs of potentially controlling and abusive boyfriends; e.g., he pages and calls often, but as a form of control, not affection, or he says “I love you” too quickly. Parents also will learn what draws their daughter to this type of relationship, why teens don’t tell their parents of their fears, the special barriers girls face when breaking off the relationship, and, most important, how they can help their daughter get out of the abusive relationship and develop new, healthier expectations for future ones. Spit in the ocean / Skip Mills
In this charming and folksy collection of local legends and anecdotes … readers are introduced to some of the friendly, open, genuine and genuinely eccentric characters of Homer. Through the eyes of the Nilson family, their friends and the town that nurtured them all, we meet Erik, an inventive Norwegian greenhorn whose entrepreneurial antics with an outhouse cleaning business and some dynamite have become legend.

The Sunday list of dreams / Kris Radish
(read a sample chapter)
Connie Nixon is no stranger to making lists. In fact, she has rewritten the list of her deepest desires no fewer than forty-eight times. And each Sunday, for as long as she can remember, she’s tinkered with it. But actually doing something about her desires is a different story—until the night she comes across a box belonging to her estranged daughter…and makes a stunning discovery. It turns out that her seemingly straitlaced Jessica is part owner of one of the most successful sex toy shops in America.
